The story behind the jewelry

My inspiration for my hair bands is a result of a trip I took to Florida. It was a wonderful balmy sunny day in Florida when I found myself meandering through this wonderful open air market. There were so many colorful booths, it brought to mind the ancient Grand Bazaar in Constantinople. I would have loved to wander through those booths! The different scents; the air heavy with incense and spice, the richly embroidered silks and satins, and hand worked jewelry in silver, bronze, and gold. Oh, and the food. Yum, the food!  while there were the most tantalizing aromas filling the air ion the Florida market, what caught my eye had been when I rounded one strikingly colorful booth and saw these really fantastic colorful hair bands. As I inspected them further, I saw that the hair bands were adorned with sweet little chip bead.  I bought a few. What held me back on buying as many as I wanted, was the cost. They were 20 bucks a pop!  Years later, I still have them.  Since I LOVE wearing my hair in ponytails, I loved the idea of dressing it up with these wonderful hair bands.  I took one apart and saw that I can create these! After researching the materials, I also discovered that I can make these lovely treasure for half the cost (or less, depending on the cost of the materials I'm using).  I love making these hair bands!  I make them to sell and then make more for me!  LoL.

Since my hair is swept away from my face in my chic hairbands, my ears are quite visible. I decided I have to make some ear rings to match the hair bands! So that's what I did, I love them!

So that's my chip story. ;)
