Organizations that I support.

I support a number of organizations and Causes. I listed a few with why I think they are fantastic as well as links if you're so inclined to lend a helping hand (give a helping hand!) A portion of my jewelry profits is donated to my causes.

Breast Cancer
Think pink! I support breast cancer research and I donate a portion of my profits to help fund facilities that support women (and men) with breast cancer.  October is National Breast Cancer awareness month. The National Breast Cancer Foundation's mission is to save lives through early detection and to provide mammograms for those in need. Their mission includes increasing awareness through education, providing diagnostic breast care services for those in need, and providing nurturing support services.
Throughout the year I'll have specific listings that will indicate a portion of the sells will be donated to National Breast Cancer Foundation - www.nationalbreastcancer.org.  Hop over and check it out; educate yourself on the warning signs, prevention, and support. In October I will have a lot of items made specifically for Thinking Pink!!

Heart Disease

I support heart disease awareness and support. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States.  ‘According the American Heart Association, 90% of women have one or more risk factors for developing heart disease, yet there is a lack of awareness and understanding about the severity and prevalence of heart disease in women. More women die each year from heart disease than all forms of cancer combined. The good news is that while heart disease is the leading cause of death in women 20 years or older, it is also the most preventable.’

February is dedicated to raising awareness about heart disease and increasing knowledge about prevention. Educate yourself on the dangers of heart disease and get on track to better heart health here!  Throughout the year I'll have specific listings that will indicate a portion of the sells will be donated to The American Heart Association - http://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/.  Hop over and check it out; educate yourself on the warning signs, prevention, and support. In February I will have a lot of items made specifically for “Go RED!”

Make Health you best accessory!! ☺☺

April is dedicated to Autism Awareness with April 2nd being World Autism Awareness Day. April second (and the remainder of the month) is a great day to wear your Autism Awareness puzzle piece and blue clothing. -- Autism Speaks - http://www.autismspeaks.org/
As doctors are more aware of Autism and improved diagnosis, we are becoming more aware of how many children do have Autism. I attained my degree in psychology with a focus in E.C.E. and Children with Autism. In my early twenties, I worked with Children with Autism and graduated from a UCLA class that, back in it's day, was quite innovative in the research, diagnosis, and treatment of children with autism. It was a program instituted by Dr. Lovaas. We applied his theories and treatment to children a with Autism and had a high success rate. Recently, I searched around on the web and found that he now has an Institute dedicated to children with Autism and related behavioral disorders. It is located here: http://www.lovaas.com/index.php . Please click over a take a looksie. Autism is treatable. Treatment doesn't "cure" a person of Autism, but helps them integrate and participate in society, as well as having a more enriched life.

World Wildlife Organization http://www.worldwildlife.org
~  ♥◦ꜙ◦♥ ~  WWF's mission is the conservation of nature. Using the best available scientific knowledge and advancing that knowledge where we can, we work to preserve the diversity and abundance of life on Earth and the health of ecological systems byprotecting natural areas and wild populations of plants and animals, including endangered species. Promoting sustainable approaches to the use of renewable natural resources. Promoting more efficient use of resources and energy and the maximum reduction of pollution.

Now for some people, this one may sound silly; I hope you read about it, so you realize how very serious it is. http://www.leonardodicaprio.org/  As it turns out Leonardo is very conscious about the depletions of animals and resources in our world. He donates a lot of time and his money to help a LOT of organizations. If I had the money and notoriety, I would do this, too. Hats off to Leonardo.

If any of these sites incite you (heh heh) and you feel the urge to help support them in any way, I encourage you to follow through with your feelings and do what you can to help support our Earth and it's inhabitants.:)

New display!

I'm so excited!  I've ordered a new display for my earrings, necklaces, and hair accessories!  The display is a lovely mannequin head/neck/shoulders. I also went to the wig shop this weekend and found an absolutely lovely chestnut wig. It's going to be perfect to show off my hair sticks!!

They're arriving UPS, so knowing how much the UPS sucks rotten bananas in Sparks, they'll receive it Thursday, but won't deliver it until Monday night.

I'll have to take new shots of my jewelry so they can be properly displayed on ears. ;)

Woot!
