New Holiday Shoppe

My new shop - Potion Shoppe is open on Etsy. I've created Harry Potter potions, Disney inspired potions, Once Upon a Time potions, Halloween potions. I do like my Halloween earrings. I have pumpkins, pumpkins wearing witch hats, witch hats, ghosts and ghoulies. I'll be listing my wands shortly.

KF Potion Shoppe

Holiday hours the Kuerwynn Forest Studio will be closed.

Happy independence day! I hope everyone has a safe and fun filled holiday! Kuerwynn Forest will not be working in the studio on custom orders July 4th through July 7th. Custom order completion dates will be delayed as a result of the holiday and KF's vacation.  Kuerwynn Forest will return to the studio to begin or continue work on July 8th

I hope everyone had a fantastic Easter! This Easter was our son's first Easter in which he could participate in the Easter Egg Hunt (he was 4 or 5 months last year) .  We were wondering how it would go; we've never had him 'hunt' for anything. Although I guess we should include hunting for toys and putting them in his toy box. It was so much fun watching him realize that he was looking for eggs to put in his basket. We used plastic eggs with little toys and crackers inside. He would open everyone up before moving onto the searching of the next egg. 

Currently,  I working on new venue of jewelry. I love the cute little potion bottles that are out there right now. I've thrown my hat into the ring and I'm making them, too. I'm making potions with themes. Potions that relate to Disney stories, Harry Potter, popular novels, and 'scary' potions.  It is so much fun brewing up the mixtures and thinking of label names that my mom started making them, too. She has already created a few that I want! Fun times!

Hoppy Easter ;)

I'm working on a few different Easter designs. I'm pretty excited about them. Just need to make sure I clear out some free time to photograph the new stuff and list it in my shop!  I have so many designs boxed and waiting for me to photograph them and create the listings. Maybe I should hire my husband to do it for me.... ;o)

Finished up some custom resin pendants for 3 of my customers.  I'm getting ready to package them up and have them shipped tomorrow. I'm holding and admiring one of the pendants. I totally butterfinger it and drop it on the desk and it bounces into fresh cup of resin. Three days of drying out the window.  =O

St. Valentine's Day

Two new Scrabble tile pendants made for Valentine's day. If you're a lover of heart shapes, then these will suit for any day. :o)  I also made two different Holly Golightly pendants. They are not the traditional angle you so often see Audrey posed as Holly. I like them because they're not the same thing listed on the internet everywhere you look. 

 

 

Halloween Jewelry

Well, I made quite a few pieces for Halloween. Would have been nice if I created listings for them.  I'll be on the ball for Christmas themed items. Think I'll still list the Halloween pieces. Never know when someone may want to stock up early.

Baby has arrived! - I saved this as a draft back in February. I'll go ahead and post it. Totally forgot I wrote this!

Who would have known my last post on the 25 of November was just 2.5 days before our baby was born?  I've been super busy and super tired!  The first few weeks of having our baby were so easy - being sleep deprived didn't matter because we were just in awe every time we held and looked at our baby.  Pain from my stitches? Didn't even feel it. Of course that may be due to the Oxycontin. ;)  While my baby boy still surprises me every day, and every minute I just love him even more than the last, I have been feeling the effects of sleep deprivation.  The most consecutive hours of sleep I've gotten has been a little over four hours. For a person who's always enjoyed and needs 8 hours, 4 leaves me with the inability to hold a coherent conversation for more than 20 minutes.  My husband tells me to sleep while he's home from work. That's hard to do, since when he is home, I want to jump in the shower, do a quick clean in the kitchen, do laundry and fold some baby clothes, to name just a few chores. All which is just a little too hard when my baby is asking me for attention (either very very loudly and not quite so pleasant or by asking with his darling coos and gigantic, heart melting smiles).


Here is what is what I've had time to work on (and have had to make time). I've received a number of custom orders - it's been fun!

I'm sitting here with my baby as I type. I love my desktop PC and not really a lap top type of girl, but since I've come to rely on the laptop and Ipad. So much easier to snuggle with my baby and still try to do some work.  I won't be able to write much more, as since the baby is awake, he'll need changed and he'll be demanding another meal soon.  Ah, as I write this the time has arrived. It's time baby time. 

It's been a wild ride!

Well now! It has been months since I've posted.  I'm a new mommy! Our baby arrived a few days early according to the Dr.'s and just one day early according to me. :) I believed he was due on November 29. I had him in the late evening on the 28th, so just a few hours off.

Before having our sweet little bundle of joy and diapers, I had thought that after he was born I'd continue to create more designs, update my blogs, Facebook, take pictures of and list my newly created items in my shop on Etsy  .... all while he was napping. I will say that we have been lucky in that our baby son is quite well mannered. Not a lot of crying - just when he thinks we're taking our time with his food, and an occasional grumbling if we've not noticed his diaper is in need of a change.  What I didn't really understand, despite all my reading and listening to new moms, is that I would be TIRED! No designing for me. As it turns out, when he napped, I napped, with usually a plea for this nap to last 2 hours ... please please please. lol  For the last month and a half, he's been sleeping through the night (about 6 hours). For the last month and a half, I've still been waking up 2 - 3 times a night checking on him.  Making sure he's breathing, not sleeping on his tummy, that sort of stuff. 

I feel pretty good though. Recently it has been quite nice to be able to sleep for 5 hours straight. So now, it's back to work.

I've created a few things in the last few months. I've finished a few Tree of Life pendants which are created from copper and gemstones. I've created more gemstone ponytail hair bands. I've discovered a new way to bake photos into clay and have made a few wedding bouquet charms. My earring inventory has increased by quite a bit. Now I just need to photograph everything and create the listings on Etsy.

So, off to the grind! I hope your summer is starting out as wonderful as mine is!

Holiday Magic!

It's been a while since I have posted!  My husband and I are expecting our first baby. He's due at the end of November. We've been super busy.

We're about all caught up and done with the nursery for now. Time to get started on the holiday jewelry!

First Show
